Jussssssst in time for Star Wars: The Last Jedi release, you can wow all your neighbors with some classic X-wing or Storm Trooper snowflakes in your window! I love how the Yodaflake turned out. And if Star Wars isn’t your thing, there are no shortage of snowflake designs that might appeal.
So, light some candles, get out the scissors, and check out these great sites.
Anthony Herrera Designs has some incredible Star Wars designs for free download. And he makes a new set each year, so click on his links for previous year’s designs. For these and the more intricate of those listed below, I emphatically recommend an X-Acto knife and a mat if you don’t want to drive yourself crazy with the scissors.
Nobel Physicist Snowflakes: How about an Albert Einstein, a Marie Curie or an Erwin Schrödinger (cat included!) snow flake? Find the downloads at Symmetry Magazine.
Disney’s Frozen: Anna, Elsa, Sven, and of course Olaf are among Anthony Herrara’s Frozen snowflake designs.
Game of Thrones: Here are ten Game of Thrones themed snowflakes from Krystal Higgins. Scroll to the bottom of her page for the printable designs.
Doctor Who: This site has Dalek, Tardis and Cyberman patterns.
Snowflake Dancers: These ballerina snowflakes would make lovely winter decorations or ornaments.
3-D Snowflakes: And these twisty and twirly ones are on my list too!
Have You Had Coconut Hot Chocolate?
I like to adopt a new hot drink every year. This happens to be the year of coconut hot chocolate! And quite honestly, it’s hard to imagine going back to the traditional stuff after tasting this.
Here’s a fancy pants recipe if you’re feeling up to making the real deal.
But to be honest, I’ll take a shortcut with recipes whenever possible, so it works just as well to heat up some coconut milk (even the kind that comes in a box will work!) and add it to your favorite hot chocolate mix, substituting it for the whole milk.
May you have a cozy evening ahead of warm drinks, candleside chats, and some snowflakes to show off when you’re done.
