Any cobblers in the house?
I’ve always wanted to design my own shoes. Or at least be able to save my favorite pairs from a sure timeworn demise.
Next best thing? I was pretty excited to discover that you can customize your own shoes. Chuck Taylors to match your favorite outfit? Kyrie 3s in your favorite color? Some old school Reeboks with yellow toe caps? You can do it all.
This week, I’m looking forward to making these nachos in our cast iron, and taking our turn as shoe designers for the night. You too can take turns creating a custom pair of shoes for each other with the customizers below.
Even if you’re not in the market for a new pair, it’s fun to experiment with and see what’s possible. My favorite one to play with is the Converse customizer. I’ve never had a pair of Chucks, but I think it’s only because I never saw the right color combination on the shelves. Maybe this is my chance!
Customizers –> Converse | Nike | Adidas | Timberland | Reebok
And while you’re at it, see how far back you can recall your shoe fashion from years gone by. A la Forrest Gump. I bet if you think about it really hard, you too can remember your first pair of shoes.
In our house, I find it remarkable how my husband can remember so many specific pairs of shoes he had (or wanted in middle school!). My favorite pair had four stripes, each color matching one of my four favorite sweaters. May they rest in peace. Anyways, it’s always fun to find out those little details of life before you knew each other.
And since we’re still on the subject, it’s always a good time for foot massages, right? A good foot massage can really turn a day around.
If you need to brush up on your skills, this guy is one of the least awkward explainers of how to give a good deep tissue foot massage I could find (you’re welcome!!).
